SKETCHUP PROJECTS

Some private clients, some experimentation, some just for fun!

2016-2023

RAINBOW VALLEY DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Wearing a number of hats, I drafted, modeled, designed, and researched to support the senior design staff. Team work is always the best work, as these projects illustrate!

2022-2023

BENTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY CORVALLIS MUSEUM - CASEWORK AND FURNITURE

I was contacted by a member of the museum board and asked to help with furniture selection and ordering for the new museum located in downtown Corvallis. Working closely with Irene Zenev, the director at the time (since retired), we selected furniture for the public rooms and private offices, keeping the preapproved budget in mind. It also turned out that the architecture firm, Allied Works, had not designed the transaction counter for the museum store, so I took on that project as well as tables and cases for displaying items for sale. Completed with craftsmanship by Chris Roth of Arete Wood and Concrete in white oak plywood and acrylic, the design features flexible storage, an accessible counter according to ADA standards, and integrally lit display.

Completed 2020

INKWELL HOME STORE - TRANSACTION COUNTERS

My former employer had been planning for a new transaction area for some time, but the pandemic made the need for a better arrangement even more important. Storage was designed to around the needs of those ringing up transactions, with flexible counter and display components, and to handle the heavier traffic at holiday season.

KELLER HOME - KITCHEN RENOVATION, CASEWORK, AND FURNITURE

A home with gorgeous views located in Yachats, OR, the finishes were a hodge podge and dated. We straightened out the kitchen layout, trading in a peninsula for a highly functional island, and exchanged the pickled wood cabinets for a more dramatic palette that suited the Kellers better. Custom casework was designed to display heirlooms and favorite art objects

Completed 2019

FIORI HOME - FURNITURE

The live edge dining table was a dream project, working hand-in-hand with Chris Roth of Arete Wood and Concrete to pick the perfect slabs and push the envelope for a dramatic design for a dramatic space. The joke is that the gap in the middle enables the dogs to score extra treats!

Completed 2019

KRUSE HOME - ART, COLOR, FURNITURE, AND CASEWORK

The Kruses moved to Corvallis from Alaska with an extensive collection of art, including many Aboriginal pieces. We worked together on placing the art in groupings to tell a story, and selecting furniture for its comfort and style complementary to both the art and architecture. A fun little project was a cabinet to hold coffee and tea things, with an element of underwater whimsy to fit in with the variety of sea life themed art in the same location.

KOSKI LIVING ROOM

Seeking transformation of an under-used living area, the painting is the highlight of the space. Furniture was selected for an atmosphere of quiet luxury, textiles were selected for both comfort and durability. Lighting was updated as well.

Completed 2018

CLAIR CUSTOM COFFEE TABLE

The clients had been storing slabs from a beloved white oak that had come down several years before. We worked with Chris Roth of Arete Wood and Concrete to develop a design that connected the organic beauty of the slab to the mix of contemporary and transitional furniture that characterized the clients’ eclectic design taste.

Completed 2018

PEORIA HOUSE - RENOVATION, ADDITION, FREESTANDING STUDIO, FURNITURE

It is the ultimate commission for a designer to partner with their parents on a design that reflects a shared creative spirit, love of entertaining, and family heritage. We took a chopped up villa-style ranch house and turned it into the hub for a close-knit family with an extra large island, two bedroom wings, and flexible spaces to accommodate multiple activities.

Completed 2018

MCNAB HOME - KITCHEN AND BATH RENOVATION

New kitchen addition with all new finishes throughout house, and complete bathroom renovations on two levels.

PND ENGINEERS, INC. - 3-D MODELING AND MARKETING CONTENT CREATION

Working primarily with AutoCad and Sketchup, I took project drawings and translated them into fully realized environments to better communicate with current and potential clients.

MULVANNYG2 - FASHION PLACE MALL, SALT LAKE CITY, UT - INTERIOR DESIGN

The culmination of my experience at MulvannyG2, I took the lead after my design philosophy was embraced by the client as a good fit for their retail partners. We took that concept - Cozy Modern - and combined it with references to the natural landscape of the Wasatch, adapting a 70’s-era building and creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for mall-goers. A personal triumph was the food court, transformed into an airy space without the former warehouse feel. Too bad they nixed the booth seating!

NORTHWEST ARCHITECTURAL COMPANY - PUBLIC SCHOOLS, ASSISTED LIVING, HEALTHCARE

A versatile firm and a valuable learning experience, I was design support on a variety of projects and then took on material selection, flooring and casework design for a group of schools. I learned to create very detailed working drawings to assist in the bidding and installation phases, and the importance of material selection as positive reinforcement for student development.
