BENTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY CORVALLIS MUSEUM - CASEWORK AND FURNITURE
I was contacted by a member of the museum board and asked to help with furniture selection and ordering for the new museum located in downtown Corvallis. Working closely with Irene Zenev, the director at the time (since retired), we selected furniture for the public rooms and private offices, keeping the preapproved budget in mind. It also turned out that the architecture firm, Allied Works, had not designed the transaction counter for the museum store, so I took on that project as well as tables and cases for displaying items for sale. Completed with craftsmanship by Chris Roth of Arete Wood and Concrete in white oak plywood and acrylic, the design features flexible storage, an accessible counter according to ADA standards, and integrally lit display.
